Research  is mainly a support service provided by BIRD to rural banking system. It is also seen as a means of enriching the contents of its training activities. The research activities at BIRD are more in nature of action research providing workable solutions to problems faced by client institutions, policy makers and other stake holders. BIRD Faculty Members have an advantage of knowing various aspects of rural banking system closely  with insights usually not available to professional researchers
